Why did Tina cry?

Is anyone as confused as I am? I mean she's supposed to be so strong and hardcore, yet she couldn't finish her song to Mike. What do you guys think?

Well... My Funny Valentine is an emotional song to begin with. Plus I think it was supposed to be in a comical manner. Remember in Duets where they sang in a comical matter. It might be the same thing.

I don't think it means she's not 'stong' because she cried during the song. It dosen't have anything to do with how strong she is, in my opinion. I thought it was really adorable and kind of made it show how strong her feelings for Mike are. It would have been nice if she could have finished her song, but I think the fact that she broke down showed something too

Tina is often portrayed as an emotional, sensitive person. Case in point: In 'Journey to Regionals' in Season 1, when everyone was at Mr. Schue's talking about song selections and whatnot, she was the one seen crying. She's not exactly meant to be strong and hardcore, at least not the way I see her. That stuff is meant to hide the sweet, sensitive Tina, in my opinion.

My interpretation about her tears is that Mike is the first person she's been in a serious relationship with that was awesome (Artie didn't really count for me because he wasn't a good boyfriend in my eyes, with the comments in Power of Madonna and we didn't really see him as a good boyfriend in general) and that she was touched in her heart that a football player chose her to be his girlfriend and was completely sincere about his feelings and whatnot, and with Tina being a girl who wears her heart on her sleeve, she really felt what she was singing to the point of tears.
